My Epic Journey Through Cyberpunk 2077's Latest Update: A Gamer's Perspective
Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.12 delivers essential quality-of-life improvements and thrilling bug fixes, making Night City more immersive and enjoyable than ever.
Just logged into Night City after the latest patch dropped, and boy oh boy, has CD Projekt Red been busy! It's 2026 now, and I'm still amazed at how Cyberpunk 2077 continues to evolve. The 2.12 update might not be the sexiest headline-grabber, but as someone who's spent more hours in Night City than I care to admit to my therapist, these quality-of-life improvements are exactly what the cyberdoctor ordered.
Keyboard Warriors Rejoice!
First things first, my AZERTY keyboard-using choomba friends can finally rebind the Radioport and body-dropping functions! I remember texting my French gaming buddy about this: "Dude, can you BELIEVE they finally fixed that?" His response was just a series of crying emojis followed by "MERCI!"
And that pesky T-key binding issue? Fixed! No more "Binding Failed" errors when trying to assign it to actions in Exploration & Combat. Small change, big impact – that's what she said. 😏

Performance Boosts That Actually Work
Working with Intel, they've fixed that annoying stuttering issue when "Prioritize P-Cores" was enabled. I've been running the game on my upgraded rig, and the difference is chef's kiss magnificent. No more micro-freezes when I'm in the middle of a gunfight with Maelstrom gangoons!
And for my RGB-obsessed friends (you know who you are), they collaborated with Razer to fix crashes with Chroma-enabled devices. Now your keyboard can flash red when you're getting shot without crashing your entire system. Progress!
Visual Enhancements That Make Me Drool
Remember how NPC hair would sometimes look like they were literal lightbulbs inside vehicles when Ray Tracing was on? Fixed! Now I can enjoy a car ride with Judy without being blinded by her neon-bright locks.
Steam Deck users, rejoice! They've fixed those crashes when playing with Ray Tracing. Not that my Steam Deck can handle RT for more than 5 minutes without turning into a portable hand warmer, but it's nice to have options!
Console Love and General Fixes
For my Xbox brothers and sisters, they've addressed that terrifying issue where the game would enter an infinite loading state, hang up, or crash when using certain saves. I lost a 60-hour save to that beast of a bug last year, so I'm pouring one out for all the fallen V's who didn't make it.
And hallelujah! They fixed the problem where players couldn't access the menu, inventory, stash, holocalls, and fast travel. Nothing worse than being stuck in a back alley in Pacifica with no way to fast travel out. Been there, done that, wrote an angry tweet about it.
Quest Fixes That Made Me Cheer
Some notable quest fixes that had me pumping my fist:
-
New Dawn Fades: Fixed that annoying bug where you couldn't open your phone to read notifications from the Automated Delivery System.
-
I Can See Clearly Now: They lowered the Body attribute check required to move that stubborn dumpster. My noodle-armed netrunner V thanks you!
-
I Walk the Line: Sasquatch's jump attack now properly registers as a hit and deals damage. (Though part of me preferred when it didn't... that fight is BRUTAL).
-
Riders on the Storm: Enemy cars in the chase sequence will now shoot at Panam's van. Because apparently, we needed MORE danger in that mission. 🙄
The Little Things That Matter
Some other tweaks I've noticed:
-
Improved visibility of the controller cursor in menus
-
Sonic Shock is now properly categorized as a Covert quickhack
-
Fixed those immortal enemy groups across Night City (thank goodness!)
-
BioDyne Berserk now properly has increased Crit Chance from its Reflexes Attunement
My Final Thoughts
As a dedicated Night City merc, these updates keep me coming back for more. The game has come such a long way since its rocky launch back in 2020. In 2026, it stands as one of the most polished, immersive RPG experiences you can have.
Sure, these aren't the flashy DLC additions that grab headlines, but these quality-of-life improvements show CDPR's commitment to perfecting their masterpiece. Every time I jack into Night City, it feels more alive, more responsive, and more like the cyberpunk dream we were all promised.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go test if I can finally beat Sasquatch without cheesing the fight mechanics. Wish me luck, choombas!
P.S. If anyone from CDPR is reading this – how about adding flying cars in the next update? A merc can dream, right? 😎
